Vibe Youth will be working in partnership with the Welsh Violence Prevention Unit to tackle issues related to serious violence and associated vulnerabilities through the delivery of support services for vulnerable children and young people (aged 0-18) where there has been a surge in demand during the Covid-19 pandemic. Through our early intervention workshops, we aim to create a safe space to provide emotional wellbeing support, this support will identify and explore emotional responses and give young people the confidence and resilience in order to make positive informed decisions and divert away from negative activities.
Using facilitators personal lived experiences, our aim is to work with young people who are on the cusp of criminal justice involvement, young people who reside in communities in which there are high levels of deprivation which can lead to negative choices being made and provide support for young people who exhibit low confidence, resilience, self-worth and encourage positive decision making.
"What we are aiming to achieve with this series of early intervention workshops is to prevent and stop young people carrying, using knives, guns and violence as a means to resolve conflict. We want to educate young people to resolve conflict, be that internal or external in a positive non violent way and and empower them in order to managae their lives in society positively with the belief and hope of fulfiling their potential." Jake Henry- Chief Operating Officer.
